Rome, The Best Place To Go Shopping
Here are some recommendations to thoroughly enjoy your shopping weekend in Rome…
If you adore shopping, you will find everything your heart desires: accessories, clothes, etc. on the very long street lined with shops, the Via del Corso. There is also an air conditioned commercial centre, La Rinascente (Via del Corso 189).
The Via Governo Vecchio has always been a street of excellent second hand shops. The used clothing from last season can be found in department stores, but in the cosy shops on this street, you can find treasures such as leather jackets from the 70’s, hats and jewellery from the 20’s, and much more. There is always a market for Vestiti, Usati Cinzia, Omero, Tempi Morderni or Mado. Remember, those who sort through the clothes will find the best deals.
Roman’s (Via del Corso, 265/266, Via del Corso 117, 119). The latest fashion. What is fashionable tomorrow in our country can be found today at Roman’s… and at the best prices. Half the population of Rome passes through here to purchase their ideal outfit before heading to the discothèques. But buyers beware – this place is only for those who do not mind drawing attention to themselves!
Taba (Piazza Campo de Fiori 13). Colourful clothes. Items with the purest style from the 60’s, imitation pearls and precious Italian and French candles… although some say that the products are Hindu.
IRON.G (Via Frattina 101-102). Original furniture, surprising designer fashion such as: Bikkenbergs, Loops and Marini. There is music playing in the background: Drum' n' Bass, house or techno-sound. By the way, Cindy Crawford often shops here.
Vesti a Stock (Via Germanico, 170/A). The clothes that the models were wearing on the catwalk yesterday can be found today at Vesti a Stock. The collection from the previous year is reduced 50% and the current collection has a discount of 30%. The store has an American loft style and it is buzzing with young fashionable shoppers: Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Ferrè, Gaultier, Genny for woman, Valentino, Trussardi, Missoni, Armani for men. In spring and autumn, there are even bigger discounts.
In the Piazza di Spagna, on Via Condotti and the parallel street Via Borgognona, there are shops from many famous Roman designers: from Gucci to Ferragamo. Fans of Valentino must pass through the Via Maria dei Fiori. Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani have their branches towards the Bubuino. They cannot be missed!
Furthermore, in the shopping centre Cinecittà Duel there are approximately 100 shops, bars, banks and restaurants. This is the ideal air conditioned place to go shopping during the summer months.
After a long and exhausting day of shopping, you need a little rest and relaxation. The best thing is to enjoy a wonderful Italian wine in your accommodation.
